"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither:
And whatever he does shall prosper." Psalm 1:1-3
There are many pressures on the Christian today to compromise their faith. We are called haters, intollerant, and narrow minded. But those attacks are nothing more than pressure tactics to get us to turn from our faith and go along with the philosopies of the world.
God tells us we are blessed if we don't give in to the temptation to walk in the ways of the ungodly, and if we don't listen to those who try to ridicule our faith in Jesus Christ.
If you're trying to appeas everyone, and not offend anyone, you've already taken the first step towards compromising your faith. Trying to be politically correct and walk with Jesus at the same time creates conflict in the heart of a true believer. God promises to keep you spiritually strong, refreshed, and productive for His kingdom if you choose each day to follow Him, and Him alone. Jesus said, "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11-12
PRAYER: Father, help me not to give in to the pressures to compromise my faith in You.
and Your word. Help me to stand firmly upon the Rock of my salvation, Jesus Christ. Help me today to keep my eyes on You and live for your Kingdom and purpose.
